Insurance is often an issue of concern for people with primary immunodeficiency (PI) disease. Here are some places you can find help and information.

Learn About Insurance for PI

The Immune Deficiency Foundation's Patient & Family Handbook for Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders1, developed with funding from Baxter, provides a good introduction to insurance for people living with PI.

You can also browse through our list of Common Insurance Questions to build your knowledge of coverage options.

Baxter Insurance Support

Because we understand how challenging insurance issues can be, we’ve enhanced our support for both patients and healthcare professionals.  One simple enrollment in Baxter’s GARDian program gives you access to the following services.

Live Phone Support

GAMMAGARD patients who enroll in the GARDian program can call 1-877-655-GARD (4273) and speak to a trained specialist whenever they have insurance challenges and questions. Our GARDian Program Specialists can also assist your physician’s office with benefits verification and coverage appeals.

Insurance Assistance

If you lose your health insurance coverage, the GARDian program can help provide access to GAMMAGARD therapy at no cost (for those who qualify).* This benefit, formerly known as the GAMMASSIST program, is now available to anyone on IVIG therapy who is enrolled in the GARDian program.

Insurance 101

The GARDian program offers a step-by-step online resource guide with key questions to ask your insurer, tips for building a relationship with your case manager, record keeping tools for you to download, and background on private and public payers.
